we're in a similar situation. My parents are not divorced but FH's parents are. His mother is in no financial state to be giving us money towards this wedding. I completely understand that. His father and stepmother on the other hand just paid $20k to rebrick their pool at their estate but have not offered $1 towards our wedding. Her children, however, I am positive will have weddings fit for the show platinum weddings. I am very bitter about it but they're not my parents so there is nothing I can do. But don't feel alone because I do understand where you're coming from. But at least your father offered you 2k, that is not a small amount of money! I think you should be thankful for that.
