I am thinking of getting married here. I hear great things about it.. I saw it in the winter.... IS IT NICE IN THE SUMMER ?????????

The food is pretty good at Danford's and it's right in the harbor. Have you looked at the Port Jeff Country Club? It's a little further from the busy-ness of Port Jeff. How many people are you inviting to your wedding? I hear the suites are great!

Danfords is beautiful in the summer. I have not been to a wedding there so I cannot comment on that but the place itself is beautiful. My one word of caution is that Pt. Jefferson is very busy on the weekends during the summer. The traffic around town can be really bad and very nosy. I would urge guests to give themselves extra time to get to the affair.

i went there for a bridal shower in september. the upstairs room has the most beautiful view of the water. it was a sunny day so everyone commented on how lovely the view was. the food was good too. we went back for dinner one night but didn't like the food as much- but that could be attributed to the fact that we all got steaks and maybe it's just not a steak place. but i remember thinking that the food at the shower was good, which is probably more like what you'd have at the wedding. i think it generally has a very good reputation.

I think that Danfords is a nice place. I have eaten there before and the food is good. But, it gets pretty crazy around that area. It is a very busy area, especially in the summer, becuase people like to walk around by the water. Also, I am way to old to know what the scene is now, but when I was in high school and early college (we`re talking a good eight to ten years ago!) I used to hang out there a lot. There were a lot of teenagers who were not old enough to get into the bars hanging around, making a lot of noise. People would just be wandering up and down Main Street and over by the water near the parking lot on Broadway. Of course, I have no idea what it is like now. The only time I have been down port in years was when I went to go look at Port Jeff Country Club. I wasn't a big fan, and it was a little out of my price range, but you might want to check that place out if you like the view. It isn't very far from Danfords at all.
