Dh's aunt lives in a levitt house...they added to the back...

they added a basement...and over that a master bedroom and a sunken living room

I am poor I am making the livingroom bigger by taking away a huge close it will give me about 6 more feet towards the back of the house. I am looking to paint and carpet I love plum and sage. Those are the colors I have decorated the whole house with and all metal is wrought iron or brushed nickle. Any ideas?

I grew up in Tanglewood Hills - 'tween Coram and Port Jeff. My parents never expanded but always talked about building over the living room - it had huge cathedral ceilings and they would have extended the upstairs balcony across the LR and it would have been their master BR.

There were only 4 of us (parents, me & my sis)...so 3 BRs & 2 baths were more than enough, I guess.

I would love that but my budget is like $2.50 right now so all I can do is paint and carpet.

I grew up in a Levitt house too...
in the Levitt section of Hicksville.
My parents did amazing things with my house. It looks great. I always HATED that we didn't have a basement though...
