Re: any one paying for
We are getting a brunch the next day too and the total for the room is 129. I thought that was high, but my mom said it is average. Anyone STILL think it is too high???

Absolutely not, I am paying for a wedding. If they can't afford to come then I have no problem with tem not coming, but I know I can't afford to help out with their hotel bill!!!! I'm sorry, but I think that sounds ridiculous.

We're not doing that. Is the $170 reflecting a discount for the block?

oh yes i think its usualy around 200.00 and you get a $50.00 couon for dinner - but they will be at the wedding so we are all doning a bruch the next day. some people will be sharing a room like 4 in a room as aposed to 1 couple in the room who would have to pay more, and most of the couples are out of state.

Re: any one paying for
Personally, I agree with Tommylove - a wedding is expensive enough.
Paying for part of the guests' room, while it is a very nice and generous gesture, it's A LOT of $$. If you pay $50 toward each room and 25 rooms are booked, that is $1250. If you have it, that's wonderful - but it can REALLY add up quickly with a lot of out of town guests.

No thats about average. I will not pay for OOT guests. Weddings alone are just so expensive.

Re: any one paying for
my blocked rooms are 189.00 for best western and the inn where some family and friends are staying is like 260.00, YES it is a lot...they have the option of finding their own place to stay not coming at all or paying the $$$ there is NO way I will pay for their rooms/part of their rooms or anything about their rooms except the oot bags which is a nice gesture, you surely do not need to fork out more $$$ for this expense and i doubt too many guests would expect it from you, youre too kind

I wouldnt pay for the hotel rooms either... did you block the rooms at the Three Village Inn??? The rooms are very tiny there, and a bit 'older'... please ask to see them if you are planning to have 4 to a room... I had my family stay there for our e-party, they werent super thrilled with the rooms, but it did the job, and we got an awesome price for the night...
I blocked at Danfords for our wedding, the rooms are a bit better and the price was $129 i believe... i would check them out to, maybe give your guests a choice... Danfords is only abotu 10 minutes away from your reception hall...
i hope that helps!!

I see too that they are building a new Courtyard by Marriott on 110 (next to the new Walmart) right in front of the airport. I'm sure it will go up fast.

cjb88 - we did go to Danfords We both did not like it-- we want everyone over the same roof- and feel if we help to pay for it then it will all work out
