ANY ONE USE CRESS FLORIST IN SMITHTOWN ???

I have only looked at 2 other florists , but it seems that Cress Florist is highly talked about. Should I bother looking for more ?? I am meeting with them Friday. If I have a good experience should I go with them ?? Should I go with other peoples Excellent reviews ??

I have also looked at 2 places so far, and I have an appt. with Cress next wed. James Cress is my 'hometown' florist and they have always done great work, however they are very pricy. I have also read some complaints on this board from some brides who have had bad experiences with him (he was nasty, etc). I think I am going to go with the first florist I looked at, however I am going to check out Cress just to get ideas, and well, you never know!

I read some of the negative comments about James Cress on this board and was expecting some sort of a monster when I met with him. He turned out to be a really sweet man with some great ideas. The prices seemed reasonable so we booked him. Good luck

We used them for our wedding in September

We were pleased with all our arrangements. Because we were married on the deck at Port Jeff CC, we had to spend a bit more to decorate the deck, otherwise we found their prices to be reasonable for the quality. Mr. Cress was extremely helpful and was a pleasure to work with. Michele

I found Mr. Cress to be very charming and easy to work with. I wanted a huge arm bouquet, and he told me that he would make me any bouquet I wanted, but first had me stand in front of a full length mirror holding a similiar one. I then realized how a bouquet like that was overpowering for me, and went with a smaller hand tied one. Mr. Cress lost about $200 from me when I downsized my bouquet, which made me realize that he feels that being a *good* florist is more important than being a *rich* florist. He got both my respect, and my business, and I recommend him very highly!

JennRenee, He did the same thing for me. I thought I wanted a hand-tied bouquet, and had me walk with different bouquets, and I turned out getting an arm bouquet which I really LOVED. It was an arm bouquet of calla lillies. He is very nice and I thought he was very easy to work with. I told him flowers I wanted, and he gave me suggestions. When I got my flowers the day of my wedding, I almost cried, they were BEAUTIFUL!!! Everything was labelled, so there were no mix-ups. They are a little on the pricey side, but they were worth every CENT!!!

Oh Diane, I'm so jealous! I REALLY wanted an arm bouquet of Calla lillies!! I'm glad that you had them, since I didn't! : )
