Any opinions on Rockville Center?

We are looking for a house mostly on the north shore in Syosset, Woodbury, Plainview etc. We need to stay in mid to western nassau b/c I commute to NYC and he commutes to Meliville.

But we were recently in Rockville Center and I loved it.

FI is from the north shore and is hesitant about buying on the south shore. I have read the schools are great as long as you stay in the RC school district, you get more for your money and the houses there have so much character...i love them...please help me convince DH.

Houses in RC are beautiful! I've heard nothing but great things about the town. There are a few houses in diff. SDs though - I think Hempstead and Malverne. Not sure about RC's SD but those houses always price much higher.

I'm from the NS and would buy in RC if we could afford too in a heartbeat! Great location and commute to NYC

I love RVC!!!!! It's a great town....and I also prefer the North Shore to the South Shore!
But RVC is an exception!
And if you move there, you can go to my brother's deli....right in town!!! He makes great sandwiches!!!

I bought in RVC two years ago - I can't say enough good things about it! The town has so much to offer - especially for Kids.
Please ask me anything you would like!
I would never buy anywhere else!

When we were first looking we couldn't decide between RVC & Garden City - but now I know I made the right choice and the only way I would move is within this town.

Hall of Heroes....he opened it up last summer. It's the delit that a car drove through 2 days after it opened....people seem to remember that for some reason!!!

I think it's on South Park Avenue or something like that....

Thanks for all your feedback. We are just starting our search and RVC is definitely my first choice. DH is coming around after some of the research we have done and hearing all your wonderful feedback.

Palebride...I hope to soon be stopping in Hall of Heros on a regular basis!!!
