Any other peglegs (Stuyvesant HS Alumni) out there?

Is anyone going to the 100th anniversary gala? I never called to see how much it is per plate. I'd really like to go, but I don't know who we'd sit with. Maybe we can amke a little LIW pegleg group. It's being chaired by tim robbins, of all people.

ETA: I HAD to clarify the subject heading!

They'd make me to to summer school for MATH before they'd let me in the door just like they did to me when I was 13

Me too! I mean, that's what they told me - summer school or no deal! I didn't go, so it was Midwood for me.

Yeah, I actually sat at the desk that Tim Robbins came back and carved his initals in. $250! Forget it! I really wanted to go, too! I really want to meet Frank McCourt. I sang at the graduated he keynoted, but I never got to meet him. Ah well.

ETA: I didn't know they made people go to summer school. I thought you either passed the exam or you didn't. Maybe things have changed. I'm a relatively recent alum. I never set foot in the old building. In fact, I didn't even go to school with anyone who had set foot in the old building.

He was my homeroom & English teacher!

Lucky duck! On the back of Angela's Ashes or 'Tis, I forget which, he's stadning in front of the blackboard in the historic classroom (fixtures taken from the old stuy) and it had my history teacher's handwriting on it. Same classroom where TR did his publicity stunt carviing inititials thing. He carved them HUGE, lol

I thought the same thing, which is why I didn't even open the thread until today. Finally my curiosity got the best of me! I kept thinking, wow that's a lot of people on LIW with peglegs
