Any past Villa Brides have any pointers for me?

I was just curious any past Villa Brides if there was any complaints you had about the hall or service? I'm just curious to know bc we are due for our second pymt and i like to look out for red flags. I know they have a great reputation but its worth asking others there opinion.

I don't have a single complaint. Everything was perfect...the service, the food...EVERYTHING

Everyone loved Villa's and raved about the food. I miss my wedding!

They're fussy to work with along the way...but you will NOT be disappointed on the day of!!! They don't normally provide tastings, because they hold the showcases and have the restaurant. But if there is a specific dish you feel you need to try that's not served in the restaurant, talk to them, because they were able to set something up for us to try their version of the Greek dishes on the menu. Also be aware that you will not be able to use personalized menus...they offer it as an add-on to their package, so since they would be able to charge you for it theoretically, you cannot bring it in from the outside. You are allowed to bring in your own cocktail napkins, drink menu, decorative pieces, etc. No matches either.

Cake wise, they gave me my top tier, but I know they didn't give Gail hers. Make sure your Maitre'D is on top of that at the end of the night. The cakes are also very basic looking, and really not that pretty lol. But it tasted good.

If you get a Viennese or a Cheesecake bar, make sure they don't pull it away after 10 minutes. My cheesecake bar was blink and you miss it, and none of my family nor DH's was able to even get any because it was taken away so fast.

They were also really good with providing a special meal for one of our GM who had jaw surgery and his mouth was wired shut...they gave him soup and pureed mashed potatoes and spinach so he was still able to eat.

But that night, everything went so smoothly. If a thing went wrong, I didn't realize. They were attentive to us, made sure we always had food, drink, that I was always covered with a big napkin so I wouldn't make a mess, and everything was packed up for us. The only thing is that half of my table names were not packed up, so when I called to see if they were left behind, or if there were any leftover CPs (that we provided, candles) that guests didn't take home that we could pick up, they never called me back. I didn't follow up because I didn't think it was a big deal, but it still would have been nice to have been called back just with confirmation. But don't let that worry you...everyone is still talking about our wedding saying it was the best one they ever went to!

Thanks Ali!! I have a great BM so I'm pretty sure she will be on top of things. Are you able to bring your own cake in? My FH's step father makes really yummy awesome cakes so if he is up to the task id like him to make it for us!! I just assumed the RH provided the menus for us. I guess I have alot to learn. Do they let you have candles lit? Are there any other restrictions I need to worry about?

Re: Any past Villa Brides have any pointers for me?

The cake....well, that you might need to ask about. I know they offer 'upgrades' to the cakes, which aren't really upgraded at all, it's square tiers versus round and a little more decoration but not much...but there's no upgraded choice of flavors or fillings. It's very basic, chocolate, yellow, or white cake, a few different types of mousses, puddings, and fruit fillings. You are NOT going to get red velvet, fondant, rainbow cookie, anything fancy. I know that they gave an 09 bride who had her shower at the Sound a really hard time about bringing in an outside cake. She ultimately was able to bring it in for decor, but they weren't allowed to cut it or eat it. So I'd double check with your BM about that. Also....I had 3 BMs in my year and change booked there prior to the wedding! They have high turnover there it seems...so definitely make sure you take notes, names, and dates when you have verbal conversations, just to make sure that you're covered in case your BM should leave and they didn't put notes in your folder.

The candles in my CPs were lit, and they had some candles on the cake table and dais as well. So that's not a problem. I know you can't have a smoke machine from your DJ, and that's all the restrictions I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any other questions, please feel free to FM me....I wish I could do it over again.
