Any Poland Spring subscribers???

Anybody else just get the notification of the class action lawsuit in the mail against Poland Spring???? Apparently, not only is it not a spring, but their water has chemicals and other contaminents in it!!!!!! I am shocked and don't know what I am going to drink now, since they also own deer park and great bear! I use their water in all my cooking and everything! Anyone know of another, good tasting home drinking water company that they would recommend?

i am drinking one now!!

About 2 years ago I bought a bottle of PS and the minute i opened it , this foul smell wafted out....I contacted PS and they said a bunch of their bottles 'accidentally' got contaminated and I should throw it out. I could have sued them!

I stopped drinking and recently started again. blech!
I have a friend who delivers PS - I will ask him about it!

I think Dasani tastes the best.

Dasani and aquafina don't do home delivery though...You can read about the suit on bottledwaterfraud.com.

I saw that on the news last night - I have a bottle of PS on my desk as I type! But I thought the news said that they've since cleaned up and they're water is now officially clean.....maybe there are older bottles still on the shelves though? Either way, it's disappointing to hear from what I thought was a good company

I read it and It claims poland spring has committed fraud on many levels, however, the lawsuit itself was filed much earlier it seems (2001?). The interesting thing was that PS phone lines were down last night! There circuits must have been on overload! I wonder if this will bankrupt them...

So much for their claim of being 'straight from Maine's springs'

It was on channel 5 last night that the suit was dropped because the plaintiffs couldnt prove it.... or thats atleast what FH told me

I spoke to my friend at PS - he said they just ended the suit and had to pay $1 mil. Some big shot lawyers who like to sue big corporations started the suit - who knows what was behind it. Basically PS paid them to be quiet and go away!

I hope you are right Karen!!! I really do like their water and I live near a garbage dump, so I buy bottled water to keep my family from encountering 'dump seepage', etc. Imagine if we were drinking PS and that was MORE contaminated than my tap water!

I have been to Poland Spring, Maine. Yes there really is one and that really is where they are located. They do get some of their water from there, but also from other spring locations in Maine. There are places there where the water is so clean you can fill your own water bottle and drink without worry. There is even a Poland Spring Resort!!

The town is pretty small even for Maine but you can find it if you look hard enough!

I like poland spring..but will drink aquafina.

I hate tap water in general. Wont drink water at resturants either unless its bottled and presented sealed.

FH thinks im a nut. I only drink very very cold bottled water.

*shrug*

aquafina is purified tap water,
if you look at bottle top it should say ' bottled at P.W.S' = public water supply...

what about getting one of those filter things put onto the sink...??
