Trying to find a one bedroom, but a lot of the places we have called have told us that they only want one person to rent to because the place is 'really just too small'. I see one end of the spectrum or the other...really inexpensive or really, really expensive.

Where in Nassau are you looking?

Re: Any reasonable apartment rentals in nassau?
We just received a listing of complexes in Nassau at work and rent ranges from $965 for a studio to $1,600 for a 2BR. I'm not sure if that's what you would call reasonable.

As far as the location goes, just want a good area (you know which areas those are). As far as rent, no more than $1000 per month...and that has to include all. Am I asking too much?

I suggest looking into renting an apartment in a house. I have a 2BR that includes all for $1000/month in Nassau. We looked in Newsday, Pennysaver and also with a few rental agencies as well. Spread the word among friends and family - someone has to know someone who is looking to rent.

Re: Any reasonable apartment rentals in nassau?
Our one bedroom apartment is very small (I don't know how much longer we can stand it!) But it is well below $1000 (includes all - cable & electric.) I found it two & a half years ago in the pennysaver (saves the realtor fee = one month's rent.) I went to the Pennysaver Office every week before they were mailed out, so I was the first to call. The office I went to is on Old Country Road in Plainview.

Re: Any reasonable apartment rentals in nassau?
It seems as though the pennysaver is the way to go. When I look online I see ranges, but no specific prices (Ex: $850-$1200), which is not very helpful. I just wanted to make sure it is possible to get a place for that amount on LI. It may be a small apartment, but it'll do for now. Thanks....and if there anre anymore ideas out there, keep 'em coming!

Re: Any reasonable apartment rentals in nassau?
My apartment is $850 & it includes ALL (except phone.) It's the top of a cape (expanded cape.) It's just old (carpet, bathroom.) And the landlord is really LOUD. But the price is right. We're saving a LOT of $$$.
eta: I think I said this already, but I found it in the Pennysaver by getting the issues early (the day before they got mailed out - really gave me a jump on the competition.) Saved on the realtor commission that way!
