nutrition is 90 percent of weight loss...exercise is the other 10...what sort of foods are you eating?

are you only doing cardio? Start strength training!

Re: Any recommendations for me?

The last few pounds are the hardest. Even though you are excerising that much...make sure you increase your strength training. If you run for 30 minutes..increase it to a higher incline and run for 45 minutes. If you are using 2 pound bells, use 3 pounds. Change up your routine.

Cutting calories is very important. Make sure you eat almost equal parts protein/carbs, so that energy is used properly. A banana shake with a shot of whey protein powder in the morning is a great start.

Drink plenty of water so that you lose the water weight.

Good luck!

Re: Any recommendations for me?

I do a combination of workouts. 2 days a week I go to a kickboxing class for an hour. 3 days a week I go to the gym. I try to do different things each day. One day I run on the tredmill for 40 mins-10 min run 2 min fast walk and repeat. Then I do some reps on the weight machines for my arms. One day on the tredmill for 40 min I repeat the cycle of high incline walk, high incline lunge, fast run. Then Ill get on the staionary bike and complete a 'hill'cycle for 20 min. Last day at the gym I do HITT. Really fast run for 1 min and speed walk 2 min. I do that cycle for 40 min then I will lifts weights for my arms and legs. I dont know how else to improve.

what kind of weight workouts are you doing? And what are you eating? I have found it is 90% diet, 10% workout.

Re: Any recommendations for me?

I am in the same boat!!! It is so frustrating! I want to lose 10 pounds so bad and I am at a stand still. The trainer at my gym said my body needs to be 'shocked' because it's probably used to the same workouts. He suggested adding more weights when strength training and a higher incline when running or walking. Good luck!

I use the weight machine at the gym. I honest couldnt tell you which muscle I am working but I try to do all the machines and work my arms one day and my legs another. I also will do free weights.

My food si tricky. I have such stomach problems and have to be careful of what I eat. I just started adding more salads to my diet but now the dressing is irratating my stomach. I try to do three meals with small snacks inbetween. I try not to deprive myself because that it when I go into binge mode. Usually its like this:
Breakfast:
oatmeal or multigrain cherrios w/ milk. If I remember a banana or piece of wheat taost and peanut butter.

Snack: pretzels or and apple

Lunch yogurt, cucumbers w/1tbsp of dressing, veggie chips. Maybe a turkey wrap with mustard. In the winter 1/2 of a soup from the can etc.

snack: this is my hardest part of the day and most likely I make a bad choice here.

Dinner: I like to eat a large salad with grilled chicken but its been irritating my stomach...so Ill eat beans with grilled chicken.
turkey burger, maybe pasta. Depends what has been cooked!

I used to let myself have a dessert but have cut that out due to my wedding in 3 months and the pounds are not moving!!

HElp!

Re: Any recommendations for me?

In looking at your diet you are lacking a ton of protein and have some extra carbs. For instance...oatmeal and a piece of toast for breakfast is not necessary. what about a packet of oatmeal and egg whites or 2 slices whole wheat toast and eggwhites?

More veggies less starchy carbs. Im not saying you can't have them at all, but try to make better chocies like brown rice or sweet potatoes or oatmeal. My meals (i eat 5 a day) all have a protein lots of veggies and then i have a couple of meals with a non veggie carbohydrate(breakfast being one of them) The last meal I have before bed is a protein shake.

I track all of my food by macronutrients not calories. I have guidelines for the amount of protein, carbs and fats I need in a day and I stick to it. That couple with exercise and you are good to go!! You can do it!

Add more protein! Less carbs! Ok so more egg whites, beans, chicken, turkey...what else ...

How do know your guidelines for the amount of food you should eat? I do usually count calories.
I have been really trying to eat more veggies. Its so sad because I hate them! LOL! I have been forcing myself to eat them! Thats why I try to eat a lot of salad. I love salad BUT the dressing I uses (and I do NOT put a lot just 2tablespoons) has been irratating my stomach. I am going to make my first change with breafast like you said. I must take control of the veggie issue. I know I should be eating more!
Thanks Lauren! You're so nice!!

no worries...i am working with a nutritionist who helped me figure out what works for my body...id aim for around 4oz protein (lean protein) at each meal. All of those foods you listed sound great but just remember that though beans are high in protein they are also high in carbs so count that as well! Maybe try a new type of salad dressing so youre stomach is not irritated? You can have london broil, pork, fish as well!!

Re: Any recommendations for me?

Hey Girls!

I am also on a Nutritionists plan. I had gained almost 30lbs from hormonal medication I had to take (to hopefully have kids in my future). I have always been tiny and an athlete, but this medication rocked my world. I spent the last year and a half working out like crazy and running miles, and had no change.

The plan Lauren is talking about is the absolute best way to lose weight in a healthy way. I have been doing this Nutritionist recommended plan for about 4 weeks and have dropped 11lbs already. I had a back injury so this is without working out!!!

I plan on starting my workout tomorrow, so I will update you as to my progress once I'm back to running and lifting.

P.S.-Lauren-

I have met you before...we work out at Soleil and you were also at Paradise working the day I tried on the sample dress at the store. It's nice to see you on here

Yes, I had previously ordered it but wanted to try it on again so I could figure out my veil and headpiece that day. I got all of my stuff...just waiting for the gown to come in. Do you know when that would be? Our date is 7/25 and it's a Maggie Soterro.

Okay yeah I think they said 8-10 wks before, but so many girls seem to have their gowns already. My sister is getting married 10/10 and hers came in last week. I don't care bc I'm not ready to put it on, but I just don't want it getting here too late either.

Just being a nervous Bride, I guess
