Any registry advice?

Any registry advice?

I'm starting to look into items I want to register for at BBB, Target and Macys. I also saw the thread about registry favorites.

Anything I should know about any of these stores or general helpful hints?

Thanks!

Personally, i had a great experience at Macy's.

I hate BBB registries. that store is ridiculously overpriced, IMO. even with their coupons, they still have much higher prices than Macy's Fortunoff, etc.

I actually had an opposite experience... BBB was my favorite registry!
As far as advice, I don't really have any, Just have fun with it!

Really? I'm going to compare...I'd think BBB would be cheaper! Interesting! Thanks!

yes... this is just my opinion. i was in there today getting shower gifts and kitchen towels were $9.99 and a oven mit was $19.99. their store brand towels were $19.99 for one towel and $7.99 for a washcloth. thought that was high.

lots of bad things on here about target -- not scanning things off on your registry and awful return policy. you might want to rethink that one

as for BBB and macys, they seem to have the same prices. macy's has 'sale prices' that are the same as BBB's real prices. Occasionally Macy's will have an add'l sale, or occasionally they will jack up the prices to the 'original price' so watch out. they each have coupons.

BBB has a better return policy. Macy's has better bonuses (you get a % back of everything purchased in gift card form, and they will donate to a charity of your choice as well).

i'm sure they all have a lot of variety. HERE is a BBB brand towel that is $4.99 for a bath towel and $2.99 for a wash cloth. HERE is another one with $7.99 bath towels.

They do vary, THESE bath towels are egyptian cotton and are $60 each and out of stock!

REALLY!? I was so set on Target! I love there decor items more than BBB and Macys is pretty pricey for home decor. But I guess it's not worth it ESPECIALLY if they don't scan things off the registry consistently...how dissappointing...thanks for the heads up though!

I just did a search on here for target registries and you're right (not that I didn't believe you!) There are a lot of headaches dealing with them....oh well. BBB and Macys it is. All of the Linens and Things around me closed so I guess I'll just have 2. I can't think of any other stores that aren't

I have had a great experience at Macy's and BBB. BBB and macy's give you incentives for registering also. BBB gives you a % off of anything on your registry that you don't get and want to buy after your shower. Macy's (if you have a credit card) gives you a % cash back on purchases.

I agree - BBB was beyond awesome, Macy's was so horrible I actually closed my registry there months before my wedding. EVERYTHING I was registered for at Macy's was listed as 'will ship in 4-6 weeks' or 6-8 weeks - and it was all basic stuff, nothing obscure or super heavy. Who wants to buy someone a gift, only to have it arrive a month or two later??!
And I also would have to disagree about the prices. BBB's regular prices are Macy's sale prices! BBB also has much better coupons. Macy's coupons are generally 15%, and they're usally for cardholders, which is obviously useless if you don't have a Macy's card. And finally I don't know what the Macy's in LI are like, but the Herald Square location is a total joke. It's so poorly run it's almost comical.

ETA - BBB also gives you cash back on registry returns. Macy's gives you $HIT!!!

Really? You thought BBB had higher prices than macys??? I thought the opposite! My china is way cheaper at BBB than at macy's. I mean yeah some towels are expensive but they aren't all expensive.
