I was a long time smoker that gave up cigarettes upon engagement at the request of FH. I was good for many months and have slowly slipped back into old habits. I'm not back to smoking full time, but cheat more than I should. FH understands and accepts it (reluctanly).
Any one else a slave to the nicotine queen?

Re: Any smokin' brides?
I am unfortunately a slave to nicotine. My DJ told me how my dress will get messed up on my wedding day if I'm outside smoking. I told him it's his job to keep me on the dance floor!
I should also add my FH doesn't like it, but keeps his mouth shut for the most part. In return I limit the amount of smoking I do around him. Usually when I'm at his place I only go outside to smoke once in a 5 hour period.

Yeah. FH and I both smoke. Lately I've been smoking a lot more than I used too and I know it will only get worse. We both are committed to quiting after the honeymoon. Our house will be non-smoking so hopefully we can both do it.

Re: Any smokin' brides?
I am also a smoker. FH used to but quit 5 years ago, now he is the all knowing preacher about it. I don't smoke in our apartment & try not to smoke around him too much cause I don't want to hear his mouth. I plan on quitting right after the wedding. If I quit now, I know something will piss me off & I will go right back!

Re: Any smokin' brides?
I have been smoke free for 1 year and 5 months to the day.
I took SmokEnders classes after trying everything, the patch, the gum, you name it. I was skeptical of the meetings, but I quit on the day they said I would and I have not had one little puff since.
I'm not going to lie, I get the urge every now and then, and I still like the smell of a fresh cigarette (but not stale, ick!) but I've come so far, I would be so upset if I fell back into it.
If you want more info about SmokEnders, please feel free to FM me. Good luck!

I agree 100% -- I still get those urges, too. On November 2nd, it was 6 months for me!!!

I've been smoke free for about 1 month and it's been pretty hard, still get urges quite a bit but I'm sticking to it. My FH is trying so hard to quit but he's having a hard time, he has to quit as he needs neck surgery and has to be smoke free. It's a constant struggle.

Re: Any smokin' brides?
I promised FH he would marry a non-smoker. I have tried a lot of times to quit. I would say I am a professional quitter. FH hates it and has never smoked (except when he is drunk and mocking me). He does everything he can to make me feel bad about smoking so I want to quit. I feel so bad cause he hates it so much, but its so hard to do and I am not ready yet. Its so annoying...

Yes! I want to quit eventually, definitly before kids of course. FH quit about 3 yrs ago, but he's pretty tolerant of me. I don't smoke in the house, and never would.

I smoke. My FI hates it. Since we moved in together, I don't smoke in the house anymore. I plan to quit because I know that I have to for my own good but not until after the wedding. I quit once before for 1yr 9mos & gained 15 lbs!!!!!
