Ok so here it is Friday night and I'm stressing over this bc I really really want this job. I have to do a demo lesson on the causes of the Civil War (7th grade). I need some creative ideas. Anything would be helpful TIA!!

Can you have some kids represent the NORTH by having them talking on a city street, each one representing a different kind of Northern person - like a progressive thinker, a banker, a business owner, an emancipated slave, and have them talk as if in conversation with each other about their interests in ending how the country is run, and then do the same for the SOUTH, except maybe the conversation will take place on someone's porch and the people might be different.
Or is that too complicated?
BTW, as you can probably tell, I am not a teacher!
