Hi - sorry to crash but I remember reading that there were a lot of social workers on the 2010 board. I have my masters in school counseling and have yet to find a job because of the market. I am considering going back for social work being that it's similar and I've heard a bit easier to find a job. However, I want to make sure before I go back it is the right choice. For those of you that have your Masters in social work...was it easy to find a job? Or is the market for social workers really tough as well? Thanks very much in advance.

I have my Masters in Forensic Psychology. I am currently a Therapeutic Caseworker for children in foster care. Basically, I'm a social worker without the MSW. My job was relatively easy for me to get, but it's a bachelor's level position even though I have a master's. The only good thing is I make (slightly) more money than some of my coworkers because of my education.

im done with my masters in social work in august and i ive been doing some primlinary searches and there seems to be a lot out there. Especially if you want to work in NYC or Queens.
