So I just graduated with my MSW and I have my first interview tomorrow with an agency. I was wondering if any current social workers could give me some tlps on possible questions, how to prepare, etc. I am not expecting to get my first job but I would like to make a good impression! TIA!
I am not a social worker, but I am in a related field. It may be too late since I see your interview is today, but I would say that the overall message you want to convey is dedication to the needs of the client. SW has a reputation for having some unhappy workers, so you want to show the employer that you have the dedication and heart necessary to withstand difficult times in OTHER people's lives, without it turning into a difficult time for you. Focus on conveying your dedication, resilience, and empathy. Good luck!!!! :)
