FH & I were on the fence w/ this for a while & we decided that we do want one... We were thinking of a very casual party @ FIL's home, w/ a steel panpan this summer. Last night it was decided that it would be better to have a yacht cruise as the party.... However The prices I'm being quoted are almost double what we're paying fo rthe wedding....
Any suggestions on somthing fun & different for an e-party that is not expensive for 50 -75 guest? Not expensive would be $50pp w/ open bar tax & grat..
TIA

You can check the George Washington Manor in Roslyn. They have private banquet rooms starting at 15 people.

Re: Any suggestions for an e-party...
I had my e-party at an Italian Restaurant with a private room. We have about 60 people. We hired a Dj and everyone had a great time. We had dinner and open bar and it was about $45 pp. I know that's not exactly 'fun & different' but a good time was had by all.
If you want to do something in the spring / summer, check out Eisenhower Park. You could get a field for yourself or part of a field, hire a caterer and plan activities like volleyball, softball, rollerblading, races etc.
If you're into card games and gambling you can rent a KOC or VFW room and rent blackjack and poker tables.

I know the Garden Grill in Smithown has packages for 45 with alcohol and my sister is doing her engagement party at Teller's in Islip and I know both food is great!! The both have rooms they would have separate for your party.

I don't if this is what you want, but my FH and I did a BBQ E-party. Oh and we are so glad we did! It was causal, peaceful, fun, and very laid back. We had it at Southaven park in Shirely (lovely place.) Its only $50 for the reservation and one of my guest I found out LOVES to BBQ. He took the poker thing out of my hand and insisted. LOL he did a great job. But you can get it catered. They have a list of places you can use. Its very kid friendly and very clean. Theres some swings, and walking ground. If you don't the walk for some pics, you can go to the front where they have a lake with ducks and swans. We had a great time!

If you want info on renting gambling tables, FM me. My FH cousin did this for her husbands 40th b-day and got a good deal on the tables. I'll get the info for you! HTH

Well it can be any park. If your looking for a laid back, low stress party just look up some parks in your area. I live out east so shirely wasn't too bad. But theres Heckshire State (right on the ocean, and there are deer that will come right up too you) and many others on long island. Its just a thought.

Well thankfullly it didn't rain, but we agree to cancel and make for the next week. I talked to the park and they were cool with that and so were our guest. But you can get a tent. Oh and it doesn't have to be a huge wedding tent either. But thats what we did. Again I hope this helps.

I am not sure where you looked into the yacht thing, but check out the ones on Woodclef in Freeport. I looked into it for my e-party (granted that was last year) but it was about $3000 incl all, even DJ. Check it out!

On a side note- Do you already have a steel pan player? I'm looking for one who's willing to travel a bit, and one in Nassau would be really helpful. Thanks!
