Hi~ i am new to this site!!! Got engaged Christmas 2010 and planning on having my wedding in sept 2011 in long island NY on a Sunday night 4:30-9:30pm I am a little sad thought because I have always dreamed of a church wedding and because I am having a Sunday wedding~ I feel like I cannot get married in a church since they will have their services. The church I was originally goingto do it in is in forest hills NY but they cannot marry me until after 5 pm on a Sunday!!! Does this mean I am stuck doing the ceremony at the reception venue? Does anyone have any advice or information if I can still have a church marriage? =( I am Christian and my FH is nothing… so that’s another challenge for us because as I understand, not every church will marry us because of that…?
Any advice is appreciated~!! Thanks!!!

i'm also a sunday wedding bride and we're having our ceremony at 3:30pm at st. patrick's church in huntington :) they have upstairs and downstairs masses, and the evening mass is downstairs, high-noon mass at 11:30 upstairs, so they were able to have a 3:30 spot for us. i would keep looking around HTH!

try St. Barnabas in Bellmore first they are very helpful.
My friend got married on a Sunday at 3pm in Wantagh at St. Frances De Chantal.
Let me know what happens.
Good Luck! The church for me was the biggest obstacle.

i booked my sunday wedding at sacred heart in bayside. they are pretty flexible. it's only 15 minutes from forest hills (i live in kew gardens). the priest is awesome and modern there (unlike st. anastasia in little neck where he was WAY too hung up on old-school rules)
ETA: i had my pick of time between 1 p.m. and 3:30 pm (latest b/c there's a 5 pm mass)

Crashing - My best friend got married on a Sunday at Holy Name of Mary in Valley Stream. Pretty sure hers was around 3:30.

I'm getting married on a Sunday at St. Mel's in Flushing! Ceremony is at 3pm Cocktail hour starts at 6pm at the hall/ it's definetly possible!

Same here! Also getting married at St. Mel's on a Sunday. Ceremony is at 3:30.

shelter rock church in manhasset married my girlfriend on a sunday at like 3pm
it's a church, but it's protestant, not catholic just FYI

St Joseph in Babylon weddings on Sundays are held at 11. HTH
