Any thoughts?

OK, so it's two weeks before my wedding and Patken just called me to say that the photographer that we spent over an hour with in January (Evan) made a mistake and is not available to take our wedding pix. I really liked him and now I feel kind of ripped off.
They have given us Jesse as a replacement. We will be meeting with her on Tuesday night but I was wondering if any one has any experience with her? Or has seen any reviews of her work?

was Evan's name on your contract? Is Jesse a full-time photographer? you should ask them these questions.

Jesse is full time. I tried to get them to write his name on the contract but they totally side stepped it...I regret now that I wasn't more forceful.

I would go in tonight and ask to see a book of Jesse's work... and they should do another engagement shoot with you guys NOW (like you have nothing else to do). You need that comfort level with the new photog on your wedding day.

Why should you use Jesse and not the other bride I also booked with Even in September I will make sure I have them write his name on the contract

Unfortunately, I have heard of this happening before with other photographers (not necessarily Patken). They lure you in with the promise of one photographer and then at the last minute they switch him on you. This is why it's very important to get the photographer's name in the contract.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this right now.

Thanks for your help ladies.

I still feel that they will do a good job for me because they get such great reviews. But, it's just like you mentioned, these things should be set in stone already and I shouldn't have to deal with it now.

Hopefully by the time I write my review I will have nothing but wonderful thing to say about Jesse
