any thoughts on booking at the (soon to be built) beach club estate?

I went to look at the beach club estate, and it seems like it might be perfect for us, but i have some reservations... haha first of all, it's not built yet!!

the location is to die for, and is everything i was looking for! i wish that they showed me more pictures, but what they did show looked beautiful!

any thoughts? is anyone else booking there?

thanks!

I would be wary. What is the completion date, including punch list items? How long will your wedding be after the completion date? In addition to being actually physically complete, the operations may need a few months to get up to speed in staffing, getting its sea legs, etc. This might be a good candidate for wedding insurance, and I would negotiate with the site for price breaks or returns depending on completion. Good luck.

I would be a little nervous about it since you havent actually seen it completed. They may change things about the plans while building.

I would ask them when it will be completed-if its months before your date ask if you can put down a refundable minimal deposit on the date until completion, at which time you will make your final decision on whether or not that is the place for you.

Good Luck

Is this the Beach Club Estate in Lk Ronkonkoma? The one that's been around for years? Are there some kind of rennovations being done? I think, if you love what you've seen so far, and they are scheduled to be done with them MONTHS prior to your wedding, I think you should be fine. Fortunately, if it is the same place I'm thinking of, they also own Windows on the Lake, so they wouldn't really have all the 'kinks' that a start-up might have. They already have a core staff at Windows, and they have years of experience, I think you would be fine. I do know that occassionally rennovations take more time than expected, so just make sure there is some leeway. But my guess is that if they weren't done yet, they might want to switch you to Windows, so make sure you like it there too! HTHs!

honestly I would be a little wary about booking a place that I have no idea what it looks like.. decor? lighting? size? layout?? there are wayyy too many things that might not work and you dont want to be stuck with a place that is not exactly what you had wanted..

thanks so much for your advice!

one of the good things is that they are scheduled to be built a year before my wedding date. they also showed pictures, and I have their sister hall (windows on the lake) to gage what the style will be like.

I will look into the refundable deposit, but I think its doubtful.

thanks again!

BCE is already there! They are just renovating it. JeanetteandSteve is getting married at BCE. Maybe FM her for details on the renovation.
