The reason i chose thurs was bc the location was booked for all of 09 and most of 10! I LOVE my location and had to have it there or no where so I had no choice but a thurs.

I'm a Thursday bride!!! I'm getting married July 2, 2009, since 4th of July is on Saturday the holiday is celebrated on the Friday, so people have off the day after my wedding. I saved sooo much money on my RH that way!!
Girl, Thursday is the new Saturday!!!!!

FSIL got married on a Thursday in September, it was so much cheaper and it was still a lot of fun, good excuse for a long weekend

I've never been to a wedding on a thursday night. I think it's great if everyone has off on friday! Just curious...what have the reactions from your family and friend been like? I stillget people asking why we are doing a friday.

I think both our families where fine with the idea we got a couple of 'why Thursday' When I tell them the significance of the date it is my Grandparents 60th anniversary they understand. For the few that said why not fri or sat I tell them pay the difference and I will change everything I am saving an additional $30-$40 per person doing it my way.

My cousin's wedding was held on a Thursday last year, so the family was cool when I told them my wedding was on a Thursday. My friends were cool with it too, honestly it wasnt that serious to anyone. I think gone are the days when people assume that a wedding MUST take place on Saturday night, and Friday and Sunday seems to be norm now. And besides, the people who what to come to your wedding will be there by any means necessary.

I'm a Thursday bride!!! It's exactly one year from the date we got engaged!
So far, only one aunt has mentioned to my mom 'isn't that going to inconvenience everyone.'...mind you, her son (my cousin) just got married last June down south, even though everyone lives in NY! Talk about inconvenience!
But apparently, all the Thursdays at my RH are now booked for August, and I think the whole summer. Before we put down our deposit, other people were trying to get our date!
