Any tricks to help me begin getting rid of the baba?

Live is going to be a year next week and I know that's the next task we have to begin working on.
I have to admit I've been slacking about giving her the cup - she doesn't like it and seems to throw it - so it has been easy to give in and give the bottle - so therefore, I know it's now going to be more difficult.
She is one of those babies who loves the bottle.
Any tips would be helpful!

I just read about a Mom who just started cutting out specific bottles each day over a one month period. At the end of the month she took her daughter and all her bottles to game farm and donated the bottles to the farm so they could use them for thier 'babies'. Her little girl never asked for the bottles again and would tell others that the baby deer needs them.

We did great on getting rid of the binky with no problems. My Dr just the other day, said to stop the bottle cold turkey and he should be fine...
I keep procrastinating it
I was more concerned with the binky.
But I plan to do what Fran mentioned, trying to replace one bottle per day with a sippy cup and take as long as we need (I hope less than a month )

I was also a bit slacking in giving him the sippy cup, he'd throw it and not want it. But over the past month or 2, he's really gotten to like it, will drink lots more water than he used to, and will even ask for the water.

I think you should try to get her adjusted to and to liking the sippy cup before you give her milk in it. Otherwise it seems like 2 big adjustments can be too much
Give her time, she'll get there

So, I'm clearly not up to this but here's a question - when do you give up that pre-bed bottle? Cause that's the one I think we'll have the hardest time giving up -- helps to make him sleepy!!

Thanks for the imput...
Anna you are so right about putting the milk in the cup (that's a no, no) as far as she is concerend. However, if I put water w/ a splash of juice she will take a sip or two.
Lee - do you give him the bottle as he is going to sleep?
I have Olivia have her last bottle at least 1/2 hour before she goes to sleep - I read this in the books b/c they say to try not to have them learn to go to sleep by nursing or bottle feeding.
This is one trap I didn't fall into - but that might have had more to do with her then me...

I think they all do the playing with/throwing the sippy cup thing until they get use to it. Once they do, they love it. I know that we had Luke using it mainly for water and was still taking the bottle but I starting giving him his milk in a sippy cup and he adapted pretty easy. It started because he was doing something that drove me nuts (and I can count on one hand the things he does that drive me nuts- so far LOL) - he would play with the nipple and there would be milk all over the place. Formula is one thing but cow's milk is nasty when it's on your couch or dried on furniture. Anyway, he's fine with the sippy cup, it's really just a matter of getting them use to the cup.

RE: the pre-bedtime bottle Lukie gets 6 oz of milk 3 times a day. One in the morning, one before his nap, and one about 1/2 hour before bed. Once they switch to milk, it's absolutely essential to not put them to bed with a bottle. The sugar in the milk on their teeth all night is horrible and causes tooth decay. So he gets his final cup of milk and then his teeth get brushed.

ETA: If you are using Avent bottles, they have the sippy cup attachments that are interchangeable with the nipples. I give water in regular sippy cups but I use the Avent attachements to give Lukie his milk. So he still has the bottle shape but they sippy top. I think the little transitional things help. They are still holding a bottle but the top is changed so it's not a drastic switchover for them.
