Any venue insight?

So I have FH on board to start looking at venues this weekend (he just doesnt know how many) and we plan on going to the following places

Lombardi's on the sound
Lombardi's on the bay
Villa Lombardi's
Giorgios
Huntington harbor club
Chateau La Mer
Snapper Inn

I have heard so much about the Lombardi places and everyone seems to have a different opinion on which is better.....any info on them? Also any places I should add to my list or take off because of issues? TIA

my friends own the chateau! love them obviously!! but if you want one wedding at a time or one event at a time- they arent it! they do 2! :) and if your doing an NYE wedding like your event says they host a massive NYE party there so may not be able to accommodate- but again you would have to ask because i'm not positive on that!

love love love snapper inn! so beautiful!! :)
lombardis on the sound is awesome! :) they have great food

villa lombardis is a factory! they can host up to 10 events a night there! my cousin had her wedding there- i would not recommend them at all! they confused the food it was huge, there were so many events going on it was insane!!!

giorgios- OMG beautiful! :) you will fall in love

best of luck!!!!

Thank you for such a quick response! I put that date because it made me put a date when I signed up for the site but I really want a fall 2014 wedding. I definitely don't want a lot of events going on like you said about villa Lombardi's so I can check that off my list and save the gas. Lol I preferred a 1 wedding place but will be ok if they have another as long as they can guarantee me that I won't bump into the other bride at any point.

I had a horrible experience when I visited Lombardi's on the Sound. My wedding is on the smaller side (probably less than 100 guests) and the rooms they showed us were not particularly nice (more like meeting rooms) and then when they sat down to go over menus and pricing they told me that they couldn't guarantee that I could wear a dress.

Apparently since they're a 'one wedding' facility that means 'one gown' and if I booked one of the smaller rooms for my wedding, and someone else came along afterwards and booked the larger room for their wedding, then they wouldn't let me wear a gown...

It was pretty much the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard and the fact that she thought she could say 'were you PLANNING on wearing a gown? because right now I can't guarantee that...unless you want to book on FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH?!?!' and then have us book there was ridiculous.

I was going to say that I heard the Lombardi's venues are wedding FACTORIES. BUT their food is phenom! That's just from what I've heard though. Don't let that stop you from visiting the venues and having your OWN experience.

Check out East Wind, also... and of course, the Historical Thatched Cottage =)

Out of the ones you listed, I heard Giorgios is GORGEOUS but very pricey

my friend got married at the huntington harbor club and it was lovely. the food was plentiful and DELICIOUS.

i was just at a wedding at a Lombardis... the one in Port Jeff... it was nice. The food IMO was overrated (but I'm a snobby italian when it comes to food). Lombardi's also had a TON of food.

This is interesting, because I'm booked there and I NEVER had anything remotely resembling that conversation. Maybe it's because my guest list is larger (but still on the small side - we guaranteed 125).

I LOVEEEEEEE Lombardi's on the Sound. The food is phenomenal, the water view is bar NONE, and I've had such great experience in talking with everybody there. I don't think I could possibly be happier with my venue. And since it's basically isolated from the neighborhood and the rest of Port Jeff, I feel like I'm in my own little world there.

I've also been to Lombardi's on the Bay, but I do think the view at the Sound is much nicer.

I also really liked CLM (the food is excellent!), but ultimately crossed it off the list because they do 2 events at a time.

Good luck!

Of the places you have mentioned, I have only visited Chateau La Mer. We have a tasting there on 1/9. I liked the place a lot, but being that I am picky with ridiculous things I really dont like their chairs & they don't give you a choice to change the linens. Now that may seem crazy (and it is lol) but strange things like that are important in my 'vision' That being said. Any place I find, the food will be the ultimate factor. If CLM blows me away, I may have to put those things aside.
