Any wine drinkers?

I am looking for a good bottle of wine as a gift. I do not drink wine so I have no clue. I think I want to get red. Any suggestions?

TIA

I have no idea how much wine costs. Will 30-40 bucks buy a good bottle?

I guess dry, full bodied is better. I have no idea what they drink, I just know they like red wine

In my opinion, sometimes you can get a great bottle for $10.99. But for a gift you should spend more...

How about Cayrnus Vineyards 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon? Or Penfolds Magill Estate Shiraz 2001.

I am a huge Santa Margherita fan. Its a little pricey but it is sooo good

Sequoia Grove Cabernet. If you can get a 1997 that will be a very nice gift. It may be $45. Also, I love Cakebread Cellars. Sterling makes a really great Cabernet get 2002 or 2000. That should be about $30.

I'm a bit of a wino..

ETA: You can get a nice white burgundy also that would go over big! It's a full bodied white that has a lot of taste-great with cheese and anything that would stand up to a red. I love Fume Blanc or a Sancerre. Pick one in a $25 range 2002 or 2003 and it should be great.
