FH had my engagement ring designed, but I have no idea how much he spent. We're also having my wedding ring designed to match the band on my e-ring, but we haven't looked into prices yet, so I'm not much help! Sorry!
I definitely think it's worth customizing your wedding band, even if it ends up costing you a little more than it would had you just bought one from what the store already had. How well the e-ring and wedding band match definitely affects the overall look.

I'm not sure of an average. It really depends on what you are looking to get (gold, platinum, diamonds, etc.).

I'm having my wedding band custom by Elsa jewelers. I don't know how to answer what the average cost is bc it really depends on what you're looking for.
eta- they do ask you for your budget. I went $300 over the budget we gave.

FH and I are having our rings custom made. Mine's going to match my e-ring. It really just depends on what metal, how much metal and what if any diamonds, etc.
I don't think most places charge extra for custom rings, since more rings are custom in a sense anyway. Like FH's ring was in the store, but not the size he needed, so they're making it.

Thanks for the input. I am going to try Elsa Jewerly, it seems that 's the most popular one in LI. I am considering the custom option because so far i have not seen anything that really did it for me.
