Anybody been to Monaco, Nice, etc.?

We're thinking about hitting the French Riviera for our honeymoon. Just wondering if any of you chicas have been there or are intending to go there for your HM?

Re: Anybody been to Monaco, Nice, etc.?

I went to Monaco, Nice and Eze in 1994. It was a high school trip and I was a senior. We had a fabulous time. The weather was beautiful and it was so clean there.

I was there in April during Easter break. Unfortunately, a lot of the stores closed down during this holiday time.

In Eze you can visit the perfume factory where you can watch how they make perfume. You can buy samples of pure perfume from all the major companies.

In Monaco, we visited the King's castle. There was a huge casino there, but we were not allowed to go in. There are a lot of shops in town and along the waterfront where you can view all the yachts in port. The scenary is gorgeous. We also so the spot where Grace Kelly was killed and we visited some gardens that overlooked the sea.

Things are kind of expensive there. It's a wealthy town.

I went to Nice a few years ago with a friend when we graduated from law school. It was very relaxing -- we laid out on the topless beaches (which have rocks not sand). There's a huge club scene there --> although I've never bee to the Haptons - it seemed like the scenes would be similar (No offense to those who love the Haptons -- but Nice had more than its fair share of trendy beautiful rich people getting drunk and trying to look cool)

Overall it's a beautiful place - you'll love it.

Re: Anybody been to Monaco, Nice, etc.?

My FH has travelled all over the world, but I don't think he's been to the French Riviera. Our honeymoon will be in September and we'd like to avoid the chance of having a tropical storm or hurricane in the Caribbean & Mexico. And I read that September is supposed to be the best time to be in the French Riviera.

i've been to nice...and it was nice...sorry, i couldn't help myself! rocky beaches, no sand as someone else mentioned. nice restaurants, nightlife. but i would recommend checking out the italian coast. from what i've heard, its a better honeymoon spot.
