one of my cousin did CD favors.. Its not hard, but its good to have the right equipment. I burned 5 Cds for her with the songs she wanted and then she took it to the IT dept at her job so they can burn 80 more to save time.

We did the photo jewel cases but she didnt like how the pics came out distorted, so at the last minute she ended up paying 200 bucks for her photog to do it (Patken). they did a good job, it looked 10x better than what we were attempting to do. We also had my aunt make cloth covered cases that looked like pouches!! She didnt end up saving the money she wanted to, but it was a big hit at the wedding.

We're doing cd's for our wedding as well. You can buy the paper from staples and you can get templates for the labels from Microsoft Office Template Gallery

For Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher

Thats a good idea, but isn't it time consuming?

Thank you so much! Thats a great link because I am having a holiday theme. I am confused about one thing tho ...

For the CD Labels (the part that actually sticks onto the CD) I can get that kind of paper at Staples and put them in my printer?

If so, do I just cut them out with a scissor? That sounds complicated! Does it turn our looking good?

Any info would be great!
Thanks Justine

They come pre cut and they make an applicator that helps guide the label on the CD

Re: anybody do cd's as a favor?

I bought my CD's on ebay from a guy and it cost under a buck each.

He printed onto the CD's the image I wanted. I tried out the staples software but returned it. It wasted too much ink and didn't even print on the paper correctly. I posted some pics on the DIY board.

I am doing roughly 220 CD's because I wanted one for each invitation and then some.

It has taken my about 2 weeks to do them. The time consuming part is burning them each night on my home computer.

I did screw up and tried doing it at work, but I ended up having some sort of scratch and I ended up burning a few of them with that scratch... not good.

Anywhoo...my suggestion is to get many more CD's than you think you'll need!

wow some of these are impressive!!!
it is time consuming but part of me wants to add my touch to the favor... I love music and think it's a nice thought to add our song and songs we love....

thanks for the suggestions... I will certainly be back with more questions once we begin..... we figured we would investigate this early... .
