anybody ever been to tahiti?

we are planning our honeymoon and are taking a cruise to the polynesian islands. we dont really like any of the excursions and really just want to relax on the beach. does anyone know of any public beaches in:
morea, papeete, roratonga,raitea, and bora bora?

also, would you know if the hotels charge if you go there for the beach?
