Is the cost of living much better there or not much? What are some nice suburbs close to the city? Is Baltimore a good city to get a decent corporate job? Thanks!

I will ask my friend. She lives 1 hour outside Baltimore, in a nice suburban area.

i have tons of fmaily there....am actually going there next weekend...there are good and bad parts there...most of my fmaily live in the outskirts of it ....try owings mills, taneytown area if you want...its close to the city but affordbale and a good palce to settle if you want kids....

I really dont know much about the area but DH has a bunch of family members who live in the Towson, MD area, which I believe is fairly close to Baltimore and supposed to be very nice.

Towson is nice and Owings mills. I believe Baltimore County is nice and its best to stay away from Baltimore City.

I live in Rockville, MD right now. (DC metro) B-more metro I know is cheaper, but I agree with the previous post about staying in the 'burbs and not in Baltimore City.
Take a look at Ellicot City, Laurel, Columbia....
Really depends alot on where either of you are working (if you know). The nice thing about the area though is that you have the option of working in B-more OR DC.
