Anybody have a birdfeeder?

I think having a birdfeeder is a true sign of my aging. So, am I the only geek into watching birds?

I love the darn thing, but I can't believe how much bird seed I go through!!!

I do, but it's really more for Arnold than for me. He likes to sit on the back of my couch and look out the window, so I wanted him to have something to look at.
Now we look out the window together...

I had one and loved it. We have a parrot and I think he enjoyed watching the birdies too. But then I realized that the little birdies were all pooping off my balcony on to my downstairs neighbors patio...

OOPS

So we took it down!

I have a birdfeeder & bird bath...I don't think it's a sign of aging to appreciate nature! I have become quite the amateur birdwatcher too!

We have one as well. Someone gave it to us as a housewarming gift, LOL! My hubby hates it beause he said it attracts the squirrels and other 'pests' into our yard and they crap all over the deck!!

Re: Anybody have a birdfeeder?

You ladies are all so cute....nature lovers, etc! I, on the other had, will never have a bird feeder or a bird bath in my yard b/c of something that an exterminator said to us when we first bought the house.

He said, never put a bird feeder up in the yard b/c you will have MICE in about 2 minutes

And, bird feeders are standing water....and any standing water that sits for 10 days or more will breed mosquitos. Soooo....with the threat of west nile, that frightens the heck out of me - especially with the baby!
