Anybody Know Anything About Windows on the Lake

Can anyone recommend or not recommend Windows on the Lake in Lake Ronkonkoma for a wedding. I`d appreciate any opinions. Thanks.

Anybody Know Anything About Windows on the Lake

Well, I've only really seen Sweet Sixteens there, a couple of weddings. I'm not sure of the food, but they advertise that the view overlooking the lake is great, but really it's not. If you look out to the lake, first you see a street directly below, and all these street light poles and stuff. It's a pretty busy street. I'm not sure if you've been in that area before. My fiance grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma, and we hung out there for the first 5 years we were dating. The parking is horrible. People have to park on the grass all along the road. I've heard the Sweet Sixteen parties are nice though, so maybe the weddings are. I believe there is someone on this board getting married there. I personally know the area too well, and I definitely would not choose there. Just my opinion. Oh, the Lake is evil. I can't explain why, but it is. At least my fiance says it is. Also, there's a lot of kids that hang out in that area, partying by the water, etc. Definitely not a romantic setting. But that's my opinion. You should check it out, and see what you think yourself. Good luck!

You may want to do a search.............

About 4 years ago, they had a big thing going on there - Wedding guests that were there for a Wedding ended up in the Hospital from food poisioning and the area is not that great, the place is pretty inside. Hope this helps you.

The people who run the place are very nice, and the food is supposed to be good. It's true that there is a street in between the lake and WOTL, but the landscaping is nice. I would go see it. Their prices are very reasonable.

My experience with Windows

Although I did not get married at Windows I did get married at the Beach Club which is owned by Windows and is right on the lake. I can only say that my experience with them was completely positive. Everyone we dealt with there was wonderful. The food was awesome. My brother who is the executive chef at a 5 star restaurant in Boston said he had never tasted such good food at any other catered event. He was very very impressed. The Beach Club is right on the Lake and it is absolutely beautiful. We were married in the gazebo overlooking the water and it could not have been prettier. I suggest that you go to Windows and talk to them. Speaking from personal experience they do great work.

My experience with Windows

That was the first place i looked at, the man we dealt with sunny or something like that was very nice, the price we were quoted at for a sunday evening was i think 79$pp which isnt bad, the ceiling is really cool a cloud mosaic type and the dining room is pretty nice. The view is good but its true about the street in between although looking strait out from a seat in the ballroom you wouldnt see the street. My problem with it was that it smelled!! Whenyou first walked in the foyer areait reeked of stale old cigarettes (and i smoke) so that saying something...i commented to the guy and he said there had been a wedding the night prior and that the girls that were cold (this was march) had stood in the foyer that it takes a couple days to air out... im sure this is true but just make sure. I thought the other room for cocktail looked identical to the ballroom so there wasnt much else to it, I havent heard any reviews on it and ive never been there for an affair but that was my experience, I didnt book it.

Windows on the Lake

I went to see Windows, as well. I really wasn't impressed with the place or the prices. I thought that the landscaping was the prettiest part of the place. Apparently, because we were trying to limit our guest list to 100, we wouldn't be allowed to have the nicest room, which was the room with the clouds mosaic on the ceiling. Also, the guy who showed us around seemed like he used to be a car salesman because he was all about the moola. My fiance jokes that he is the guy from the Men's Warehouse commercials - 'You're gonna like what you see here, I guarantee it'
