I don't think it's worth it for us to do them. We have a handful of 'out-of-towners', but we speak to all of them on a regular basis. I guess you could say that about all of our guests.
So do we bother?

We didn't bother either. Just seemed unnecessary for us. A large majority of our guests are from near by and anyway, I think most people would hear about it by word of mouth.

As a matter of fact, I don't think I have ever received a save the date card for any wedding I've ever been too. Even one that was on 4th of July weekend.

The only reason I am is b/c we are getting married at the beach in September - a very popular time of year and about 100 people are coming from out of town. It would have been a nightmare for all of them to try to find accomodations if we didn't send it out early with all the details. I don't think its necessary to send out those cards with the date and nothing else. JMO.

I've only received one Save The Date, but that was because our friends had their wedding up in Newport, RI at the end of summer. It made sense b/c people had to make accomodations early siince it's a popular time of the year for that location. Besides, none of their guests, nor they, were from RI.

I was thinking of doing them a couple of months ago, but now it's a little less than 5 months to the wedding and I'm thinking why bother now and just try to get the invitation out sooner. I've called/email those close to me already about the date. I told FH to call/email his family/friends, but he wants to do STD which translates to me doing them.

I was thinking of combining them in with this year's Christmas cards maybe-but I'm not sure-because everyone that is invited we speak to-or someone in the family does--ya know? I really LOVE those magnets-but we are trying to save as much money as possible and I'm not sure if everyone would use them--sooo....I guess my answer would no-like Jen said I have a BIG Mouth so that would be my save the dates--lol well put jenn!

I'm not doing them either.... I may be having a problem with the budget & my flowers.... so there is definitely no room for STD's.....
