Hey everyone...I have the raw footage of our wedding video and I would love to make my own edited version. I was wondering how I can take the two huge files I have from the DVDs and chop them up into a library of smaller clips that could be used for the main project. I am using Adobe Premiere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Anybody out there good w/ video editing?
I used to teach adobe premiere in a former life and this might not be of any help because it has been a few years since i've even seen the program. However, your first step will be to digitize (or transfer) the footage from your media onto the hard drive - because audio/video takes up a lot of space you should only digitize the footage that you know you will want. I don't remember if premiere has the option of 're-digitizing,' but if it does, you should digitize the first time at a very low resolution, and only when you are exporting the final product should you redigitize at a higher resolution to save space as well. I may still have the manual I created for my students at home on my computer that explains the whole process. FM me with your e-mail if you would like me to send it to you. Good luck :) (I wanted to edit my own video also, but my FH thought I was nuts.)
