Anybody use Green Point bank for a mortgage (or know anything about them)?
They have pretty decent rates, but I don't know anyone who used them.

i know my parents have had a mortgage thorugh them before and never had a problem - what are their current rates? Fh and I are shopping around for a mortgage now.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked Bankrate.com yesterday and they had a pretty good rate for a 30 yr fixed mortgage. I think it was about 5.7%.

Just an FYI, GreenPoint is being acquired by Northfork Bank. I'd ask to see how the mortgage division is going to be affected.
