Aww, dont give up. Specifically, what feels overwhelming to you? We're all here to help each other... is there something we can help you with? I haven't booked anything but my RH - I called my church last month and they told me to call in a month so I'll call them soon but I feel pretty laid back about planning. I know the photographers I really want to use so I should light a fire under myself for that but otherwise I'm just relaxed about the plans- it will all get planned somehow and it will be the best day of your life!

I would have eloped if I didn't find out that my dad had been saving for my wedding since I was little....if that is what you want, go for it!!! It would have been us!!! This whole big wedding, planning forever isn't for everyone...and it is less stress to elope!!

i'm just not one of those people who enjoys planning lol. When we have get togetehrs with the girls i tell them to make the plans and call me to tell me where to be and what time. So organizing a wedding is going to be ruff. For some reason im not excited to go and meet with photographers and RH and everyone else. I wish people just told me book this person, this hall etc. i think the reason im hating the planning so much is because im trying to make everyone else happy and accomindate their wants. I just need to focus on me and fh and then hopefully i'll get the excitment feeling back. thanks for listening girls.

Definitely put the two of you first but take others (valuable) suggestions... girls on here are sooooo good... make a post on bhb asking for recommended dj, photographer, florist etc. Plus when you book your RH they will give you a list of their preferred vendors - and some of them give you discounts.... that makes planning a lot easier!

you can't accommodate everyone.. that's pshycially impossible... the only ppl you should think about are you and your fh.. thats it.. input from other ppl are good... take them.. and you figure out if u want to use it or not... it's ur day.. not theirs...

sometimes things just get overwhelming...why not just take some time away from it- not talk about it at all and just have some fun with FH for a few days- maybe a day trip or something. Maybe after you clear your head of wedding stuff doing a little planning will be more enjoyable. Also - maybe just do it in small doses so you dont get overwhelmed.

Wish I could elope as well.....
I still love planning but at times it could be overwhelming and cause me to want to just say forget it lets just go to city hall

I would love to elope but FH wanted a wedding and I also could not imagine not having all of my family at my wedding. I like to plan but I hate the stress that is comes along with the wedding planning. I also hate that I have to book thing in so far advance but if I want to get the best deal I have start sooner then later. My major project now after booking the hall is Photography. I cannot seem to connect to any of the photographers I have visited. I think I seem over 10. I am tired!!!!! I really wish I could ELOPE.
