you could try Hekscher in East Islip and there is a park in Smithtown I think Blydenburgh or something like that.

Hecksher is nice... the Arboredum would be great but I don't know if there are benches or anything. Or maybe Sunken Meadow.

I was thinking the Arboredum but it doesn't look like a bbq type venue.

Sunken Meadow is a good park for BBQ as is Hecksher. Both have beach areas as well which if its a nice day is a nice alternative to have. They are both state parks so depending on the number of people you are having you may need to apply for a permit.
