Anyone....

have some advice for me?
I know I am not on here all the time but I do appreciate and value all information and advice I do get from you ladies!

My shower invites recently went out recently and I just found out that my mom has decided not to invite my 'aunt'. This family friend has known me forever and been through everything with me. My mom and her had a falling out and despite the fact that I included her on my invite list (that my mom asked me for!!) my mom refuses to invite her. Both my sister and dad have tried to convince her to no avail.

Do I call my mom out on it and get no where? Should I inform my 'aunt' of the shower and let the choice be hers to come or not? Really I am stuck.

I know I am a control freak but I am trying so hard not to be bridezilla. Also, at what point do I get what I want? Honestly, I cannot wait for my shower to be over!!!!!!!

i had a similar situation. Very similar. I told my mom to include the person or I wouldn't come. She included her.

I don't think I'd circumvent my mom cause that's just asking for trouble.
If you're close to her... I'd have a frank conversation with her and let her know, listen, I know you and my mom aren't getting along right now... and I did want you to come to my shower but mom doesn't feel comfortable with that and she's throwing the party, so I don't really have the say

and hope she understands.

And if you're the one paying for and planning your wedding, invite her to that.

I wouldn't just invite her behind your moms back because it could get really ugly if she showed up out of the blue.

I would sit down and have a heart to heart with your mom about it. She may change her mind when she sees how much this is bothering you. She may also realize that she was selfish in not inviting your aunt in the first place! Maybe she needs to be reminded that its YOUR shower and YOUR wedding.
