that you won't be prepared for your shower? I keep on buying outfits and not being happy with them. Of course nobody will tell me anything (although i keep trying to get hints, and look at my registries . I don't want to be caught looking like my normal dreadful self.

Re: Anyone afraid...
I am not afraid because as far as I know, there IS no shower prepared with a wedding 4 months away. I am disappointed (more than you know) but I know that if the BP doesnt set something up in about a month, my mom will.

Re: Anyone afraid...
Umm yeah although I will have my suspicions for a number of reasons!!!
For one thing most showers start at either 12 or 2. Very rarely are FH and I out of the house that early on the weekend!!!
FH is very indecisive on where to go most of the time and what to do. If all of a sudden one day he says to me 'let's go to this place for lunch' I will know something is up.
My MOH was already asking me today for suggestions on locations and asking me for the guest list. Since we never go anywhere in Queens or Nassau, I will know immediately if we end up going to 'lunch' in that area!!
But they may manage to pull one over on me anyway!!

Re: Anyone afraid...
Ah, see MOH (sister) and Mom asked me a long time ago. I do check my registry and see one thing here and there gone each day. FH is totally willing to see me look like a slob for laughs. I am afraid my family will totally do something out of the norm just to get me b/c i am always yapping.

Re: Anyone afraid...
yes definately...
although my mom is really good at making sure that I look good when I'm going to get a surprise. Once when an ex that lived out of town was coming in (while we were going together), she made sure that I got my eyebrows done, got a manicure, kept on my back about making sure that I wore makeup when I went out, etc.
when I was getting engaged, she started going with me to get manicures regularly starting about 2 months before so that I wouldn't think something was up if she were to suddenly make sure that I got a manicure.
I have faith that she will make sure I'm primped before hand.

No, b/c I told my MOH that I don't want to be surprised & she's from Texas & they do things a bit different there (she basically planned both her bridal & baby showers).
Personally I don't get the sneaking around & hush hush b/c every bride knows she's having a shower, so to be surprised for 2 seconds, is it really worth all the trouble? JMO

Re: Anyone afraid...
Mine is so far off, I haven't even considered it. But, when it gets time, I'm sure I'll be caught off guard since I almost never wear makeup, and I unless I know something is going on I wear my glasses instead of contact lenses.

I agree 100% and my family and friends are aware of that. I think that is why they totally don't want me to know anything.

Hint? I dropped a bomb. My mother was under the impression that the bridal party was doing it. They havent asked for a guest list and the wedding is 4 months away. Mom said if nothing happens within the month, she will do a shower for me - she shouldnt have to but she would.

Just give your MOH a list of those you want there. That doesn't mean you have to know when it is. And that means they won't forget somebody, or accidentally invite someone that's not invited to the wedding.

Re: Anyone afraid...
I am totally! I went to Nordstrom on Monday in the hopes of finding something, but didn't see anything I really liked. My plan is to pick out an outfit that I like and leave it in my closet for my FH to take. However, my wedding is 3 months away and nothing new has been bought off my registry.
