If you are, what were your symptoms? I think I might be. I lost a lot of weight (I'm already thin) and have no appetite and have troubles in the bathroom. I have to go for some tests, but that is what my gastro doctor thinks it may be. That would really suck!

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
I knew someones' child that is....poor kid would be doubled over in pain, had to come home from school numerous times, in the hospital numerous times...they couldn't figure out what it was for the longest time!
I'd chart what you eat and see when you have the most pain and trouble....see if it's after you eat wheat related products!
Good Luck!

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
I feel like wheat is in everything! He is testing for that and colidus (sp?). I personally hope it's neither, but better that then something worse! He said the wheat thing is very common and a lot of people are walking around not knowing they have it. What made me go to the doc is because I'd drink 2 beers within 6 hours and would run to the bathroom at the end of the night going and throwing up. Strange. We shall see!

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
good luck! My dad has colitis...spasms of the intestinal walls....stress related....kind of like IBS....
look these up on webmd and see where your symptoms fit....there is a section on that site where you can look up your symptoms and it will tell you the possible diagnosis (this is how I knew I had gallstones before the dr's told me!)

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
Ahhh, thanks. He asked if I have ulcers or gall stones running in my family and I said I don't believe so, but just about all my family is in Greece and the old ones didn't 'go to the doctors'.

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
For YEARS I was told I had IBS, and ulcer, intestinal parasites, etc.
Then, last year I went on the Atkins diet. After a month or so I couldn't believe how much better my stomach felt. I mentioned it to my Dr and he ran some tests and it turns out I have a gluten allergy!
Now I can notice the difference in how I feel when I eat bread, etc, so I really try to limit it.

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
gallstones will give a reaction to fatty foods....the gallbladder regulates the bile that break down fat. I got sick after eating filet mignon and didn't feel well for a few days....thought it was just a stomach ache (I was on vaca in FL with a BF). Come home...have a girls night where we ate chinese and ben & Jerry's.....at 2am I was vomiting so severly, and had this gassy bloated feeling that would not go away, like I had a rock in my belly and pain in my back. (All symptoms). I tried lying down, walking my house, even woke my parents up! (I was 24), I had the sweats....I finally fell asleep at like 6am for a bit and my dad thought it was food poisoning.....Ugh...2 weeks later I got diagnosed and went for surgery....a few days later I was home recovering and Sept 11th happened....Oopps....I digressed too much, SORRY!

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
Oh wow, that doesn't sound fun! The body is so weird....well glad you are feeling better! I lost about 17 pounds in the past year and a half doing nothing. I was thin to begin with so now people are saying are you ok? You are too skinny. It got frustrating so i went to the doctor.

Re: Anyone allergic to wheat?
You should get tested for Celiac Disease. My SIL has it and is very allergic to wheat or anything containing gluten. She had the same symptoms as you.
