I have asthma and ever since I got PG it has been terrible. At times I am just gasping for air. I try not to use my inhaler as much because I don't want to possibly hurt the baby but recently I find I'm needing the medicine more and more.
Anyone else have these problems?

I had a bit of an asthma attack when I was pregnant. I called my OBGYN & asked if I should use the inhaler. As he put it 'If you can't breathe well. Then how can your baby?' So I used my inhaler.
If you are finding it harder to breathe tell your OBGYN he/she will be able to tell you what to do.

I have asthma, and when I was PG my dr. told me to use the inhaler when I needed it. She said that me not being able to breath would be much more harmful to the baby than the inhaler.

One more thing: which medication do you take? I take Advair and Singulair, and since I started taking them, I have not needed the Albuterol. I used the Advair and the Singulair while PG with no problems.

I used Abuterol and I think I've just built up a tolerance to it. I have a appt. with my obgyn on Monday and a physical with my GP in early December. I'll talk to them about it and see what they say. I'm just worried about hurting the baby with the meds.

My asthma got much worse while PG....my pulmonary dr watched me closely and gave me flovent to use (normally I don't need anything). Since having Emily, I've been much better. But my DR said the inhaler is much better than wheezing while trying to provide enough for the baby
