Anyone attend or have their wedding at Thatched Cottage recently??
I have my wedding booked at Thatched Cottage and am so excited. We did the food tasting and the food was unbelievable. However, a friend of mine just went there for a wedding and said the food was horrible and there wasn't top shelf liquor. Just wanted to get some other opinions from people who have been there for weddings or had their wedding there. Thanks!!

I just went to a wedding at the Watermill. Met someone who went to a wedding at the Thatched Cottage, and said the food and service was great. I don't think we have anything to worry about. You're never going to please everyone.

I had top shelf!!! People are still telling me that the food was top notch at our wedding, and everyone cant stop raving about the variety and the amount of food there was!!! The service was the best! The french service is awesome! The thatched cottage is not your usual wedding...its above and beyond!! The owner is the chef...so he def takes pride in his food!
My wedding video and pics came out awesome..There was the water, flowers, waterfalls and willow trees. There were swans and antique picket fences. It was just amazing. Read my review

I heard this from someone else too but I found out everyone has a different perception of what 'top shelf' liquor is... When I booked the first thing I asked was to see the bar (im a bartender... not a lush lol) and at least according to my contract, my open bar includes top shelf ... which they consider Malibu, Absolute, bacardi, jack daniels., jose cuervo.. and there were a couple more. BUT if you are looking for Grey Goose, Kettle one, Patrone, and things like that It is considered 'Premium' Liquor.
And as for the food, I have heard nothing but good stuff so I dont think you have anything to worry about! OMG HOW GOOD was that champagne!!!!!

i am booked at thatched too. i have heard nothing but good things about it when i tell people! everyone raves abut the food and the location/grounds.

i just had my wedding at the thatched cottage on saturday aug 23, 2008. do not worry at all about anything. i actually had a lot of doubts about the place but when the day came, everything went completely perfectly and smoothly. the thatched cottage really is amazing. they really go above & beyond. my guests are STILL talking about it. the cocktail hour food is incredible. ralph even threw in extra stations without telling us!!!! some guests have told me it was the nicest wedding they've been to. i honestly had no idea things would go so perfectly. if you have any doubts at all, DO NOT worry at all. everyone there is amazing. i had 240 guests and it was not cramped at all in there either in case you're worrying about that because i definitely did! toni ann is hard to get in touch with sometimes but she is great and really knows what she's doing. also, the chair covers really transform the room so i highly recommend them.
i am pretty new to this site so i'm not sure how to post photos and everything but i put some into my album on this site. the photos are not too great because i don't have my professional photos online yet but i will post whatever i can for now! please let me know if you have any questions at all about the thatched cottage. i really hope that i attend a wedding there one day myself so i can actually try all the food there

I have never been there, however my parents went to a wedding there about a month ago and they were not impressed, they said that that the food was ah ok and that the had a small chocice on alchool.. I have never been there but my mom crossed it off my list of places to see since she has a bad time there... HTH
