I've been there...but it was during the Olympics...so things were a lot different...we were busy seeing all the Olympic attractions
my oldest friend lives down there so she took us around to places outside Atlanta...like decator and athens...and stone mountain...

Underground Atlanta is fun and I always love the Coca-Cola Museum -- you get all the free tasting of all the different sodas (nauseating but fun!)...
There's also the Gone with the Wind museum (if you're a fan) and if you are a hockey fan, the arena where the Atlanta Thrashers play is really amazing...
Stone Mountain is a nice trip and there is a huge mall in Buckhead with great restaurants and great bars in that area.

I believe the name of that mall is Lenox Center. Stone Mountain is nice. Buckhead has alot of places to eat and bars. You have to visit The Varsity(it is an institution). They have the best greasy, horrible for you fastfood. The Fox Theatre is beautiful and often has great shows.

my dad lives in buckhead and i hear thats teh place to go lots of bars and retsraunts and shopping not far from there either

atlanta is awesome. definitely the underground mall...cnn center...the coca cola museum...stone mountain state park... there's so much to do down there! i want to go back!

Do not stay in Downtown Atlanta, well I would not again.
I have been there mostly on station trips for my job, my husband and I have been as well to visit friends. My hubby booked a hotel in Downtown Atlanta and I was scared $hitless.
There were bums on every corner panhandling. I so did not like it.
I have stayed in Buckhead.
I really can't help you with hotels, because we mostly stayed with friends, with the exception of the times I go there and I stay at the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, which is no cost to me, so I have no idea what the rate is.
I do agree you should go to the Martin Luther King Center, The underground, The Coca Cola Factory. I do say VISIT ONLY downtown.
The Lenox Square and Phipps Mall are the best.

The only place I found a great deal is Atlanta.
Can I ask where you got this great deal from??? I'm considering a trip to Atlanta .. but am finding it too expensive.

I have really close frends that live in Newnan which is about 30 minutes from Atlanta and I totally agree with all of these places!
