was it good? friends invited us to go and trying to decide if we should...fh is a little hesitant by the type of food, and also everytime we go out with the friends our $40 share ends up paying $70

I haven't been but 2 of my friends have. One spent 6 months in Brazil so she was looking forward to going...she was disapointed. Another friend, a chef - who isn't particularly picky with dining out, considering he's a chef - didn't like it at all.

I have never been there but according to DH and his cousins, everytime they have gone they have come out of there sick. So be careful! I haven't heard anything good yet.

Wow! Surprised at all the bad reviews. Some of the food from the salad bar isn't great. We go there once a year for the delicious steaks. They usually come around with the meats that aren't too great first, so just pass them up until the good stuff comes. Some of the foods are a little too exotic for us. We don't eat any of that stuff.

we go to the one in queens regularly. it's great! never had any personal problems with the food nor have i ever heard anything bad about it.

DH loves it. I went once and I hated it. The food was so salty you really couldnt get a taste of the meat. Wasnt thrilled by the selection either.

Can understand why you decided to pass based on the reviews here .. but my husband and I have been there many times. We always enjoy ourselves, have never come away sick and obviously think the food is good .. otherwise why go back??
We do typically go on week nights, though .. which is fine .. I think the most exotic stuff they have is only prepared on the weekend .. but it's stuff that we wouldn't try anyway.

FH's friend (and on of our gm) is part portugese and told us NOT to go there - he takes us to Barrada (sp?) on Jericho Tkpe and near Willis ave - he orders for us in portugese but they have great food and a good deal for the guys with the all you can eat - and it is closer to you.
