If so what area & hotel did you stay in. I am trying to book a trip and I have no idea where to stay.

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Anyone been to London????

I have been to London for work- and it's a great city.
However, when you book your hotel make sure that you are getting a real queen or full size bed!!!!!
The hotels that my company rent out for us come with these tiny rooms and bed.
Think real esate prices like NYC.
We usually stay in the Hyde Park area which is pretty nice and not far from the tube( subway).
It's a great city- enjoy!

Re: Anyone been to London????

I HAVE BEEN 3 TIMES, BUT SORRY...NEVER HAD TO STAY AT A HOTEL. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT LIVE THERE AND I ALWAYS STAY AT THEIR FLAT. ANYWHERE THOUGH NORTH OF THE RIVER IS GOOD. SOUTH OF THE RIVER IS KNONW TO BE A BIT ON THE 'FREAKY' SIDE. THE TUBE IS GREAT, YOU CAN PURCHASE AN ALL DAY TICKET. BUT WALKING IS GREAT TOO IN THE CITY, BECAUSE BELIEVE IT OR NOT, EVERYTING IS FAIRLY CLOSE BYE TO ONE ANOHTER. DEF SEE THE 'LONDON EYE' AND BUY TICKETS EARLY IN THE AM. IT WAS AMAZING! YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME. IF YOU ARE GOING IN THE SPRING/SUMMER, BESURE TO TAKE A WALK THROUGH REGENTS PARK. YOU WILL SEE SOME AMAZING GARDENS AND ALL.
IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO VACATION, YOU COULD TAKE THE EUROTRAIN DOWN TO PARIS. IT IS ONLY A 3 HR RIDE BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF THE FASTEST TRAINS AROUND. YOU COULD WALK THE CITY OF PARIS IN 2 DAYS TO SITE SEE. I DID THIS AND IT WAS AWESOME. STAYED AT A HOTEL NEAR EIFFEL TOWER. JUST REMEMBER, A HOTEL IS JUST A PLACE TO 'SLEEP', WHEN YOU ARE OVER SEA'S, YOU SPEND A LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME OUT SITE SEEING AND DOING. ENJOY

Re: Anyone been to London????

I just booked today. We are going the second weekend in May. Actually, we live in Ireland right now, so the airfare wasn't a consideration. I booked our hotel through londontown.com. We are staying in Trafalgar square. I am so excited I can't wait!!

Thanks for all the advice.

Re: Anyone been to London????

Once I stayed near Victoria Station...walking distance to Buckingham Palace. More recently, we stayed in Kensington near Holland Park...more expensive and a bit further away from the major attractions, but close to the Tube and in a much nicer residential area than Victoria. Are there certain areas you are considering? Feel free to FM me and I'd be happy to give you advice. And, yes, the size of the beds and the rooms tend to be very small unless you stay in a very high-end luxury hotel. Even at the Hilton in Kensington, our room was on the small side. We had a queen bed there and it took up almost the entire room!
