Re: anyone been to sandals?
just got back from st lucia and stayed at the grande but visited the regency.
they each have different strengths -- the grande has better beaches and more watersports, the regency has better food (and has the 2 restaurants that you'd make reservations at). we took the shuttle to the regency 2 nights for dinner at la toc and kimonos. we also saw people taking the shuttle to the grande to go to the beaches.
the grande is a bigger resort, but everytihng is centrally located in the same building or out on the beach (with the exception of gordons on the pier which is... on the pier). the regency is more spread out through the mountain and has a shuttle running to transport you to different areas of the resort.
i enjoyed staying at the grande and leaving the resort for dinner occasionally, but you could always do the reverse too -- i think the regency is closer to the airport
hope this helped
edit: i recommend getting a concierge level room

Re: anyone been to sandals?
FH and I are looking into the Sandals in Jamaica and were told we could enjoy the other resorts activities even if it's not where we are staying. I am pretty sure it works for Antigua as well. HTH.

i'm pretty sure you can. it's about a 40 minute shuttle ride between the two though, which might be a little uncomfortable if you are wet.
i personally preferred staying at the grande and being able to go back and forth from the beach/pool to my room easily and then making more of a trip for dinner, but they make it pretty easy to go back and forth between all three of the resorts. (we didnt go to the halcyon but the shuttle stopped there as well)

we are booking through a friends father who is a rep for sandals..we arent going crazy with the room..wed rather spend more time there than spend a ton of money on a ridiculous room. So we are getting a honeymoon beach room...no suite or antyhing...and most times they upgrade you anyway!
