Anyone been to STIR in NYC?

It's a new lounge on the upper east side . . . not sure if anyone's heard of it yet?

Thinking of having engagement non-party (haha) there.

Hmm...have not heard of it yet. I live on the UES - do you know where it is located?

I actually was just there on Friday night. It was late in the night so I don't remember too many details...
It was pretty nice. The bar was too the right when you walked in and there were couches and tables all along the the left wall and more on the right side beyond the bar. The middle of the place sort of became the impromptu dance floor for what looked like a company holiday party. I think it would be good for a cocktail-type engagement party.
Let me know if you have more specific questions.

The address is 1363 1st Ave. (73rd & 74th Sts.) The sheckys review looks really good too.

If there was ever a reason for your hipper-than-thou downtown friends to take the trip to the Upper East Side without whining about the commute, Stir is it. An honest-to-god lounge in the middle of Irish pub hell, Stir’s ultra-comfortable seating and hip décor could keep you occupied all night. $12 specialty drinks line the menu, seemingly named after a future Jessica Simpson perfume line: Flirt, Lucky, Tranquility, Hype. Some glasses come lined with pixie stick dust or Pop Rocks; time will tell if this idea has legs, but for now, it’s fun and different. The appetizers are all winners, as is the DJ-supplied music (Wed-Sat). Bring a date to Stir, and odds are you’ll lock lips by night’s end.

Went for my b-day. The martinis are really good.

Did it used to be called something else?? Is it on the west side of the street?

Re: Anyone been to STIR in NYC?

thanks for the info girls . . . I don't think I have too many more questions - I just wanted to make sure it looks nice, clean, and has a genuine loungey feel to it in real life - it looked good in pics and I'm planning my NY wedding & engagement party from FL because we just moved here and all our friends and family are still up there, of course.

oh, and yes - it is BRAND new - It's on 1st ave and 73rd - I believe it's right across from Session 73. . .

I think we're definitely gonna have the party there - it looks/sounds nice - I will let you know how it goes if anyone's interested for future knowledge.

Great info. I'm trying to figure out how I've missed this place. Been to Session 73 a bunch of times and FH used to live on 1st ave and 74th. Odd. But can't wait to check it out

My friend is an investor in STIR and it's been STIR for about 2 years. Maybe a little less.

It's a nice place. FH's friend is a silent part owner in the bar. We are going there for a New Year's party
