Anyone been to the following places?

1. Secrets Excellence Cancun Riviera Maya
2. Secrets Excellence Punta Cana
3. Hyatt Regency Aruba
4. Aruba Marriott Resort
5. Curacao Marriott
6. Body Holiday@ LeSport, St. Lucia

We're trying to narrow the choices further for our HM before going to a travel agent!!

FYI Sandals is a little out of our budget, so please no suggestions on that!!

I almost went to Secrets in Cancun...it was a really close call. I swear by TripAdvisor...read every single review. Also the knot.com's HM bio...it has reviews from past brides!

BTW Royal Hideaway was on my short list, but after we priced it out, it was almost $1,000 more than what we wanted to spend!

Also, does it make sense for us to go someplace we've both been to before? I've been to Cancun, and FH has been to Cozumel. Should we go someplace different all together?

I know, RH is pricey. But during my research I found Secrets Excellence to be competing for the same clientele. It's gorgeous and upscale. The only reason why we chose against it is because we wanted a real beach and it was a brand new property (less than 6 months old) so we didn't want to take the chance. But the pictures and reviews are great.

Dh's cousin went there for his HM and loved it! From what they shared it seemed very similar to RH and our TA also highly recommended Secrets.

I was told all resorts in Cancun or maybe even Mexico have to be torn down and re done after 30 years because of weather damage and other reasons. Not sure how true that is....

I don't know how true it is either, but I don't doubt it because of 'salitre'...I guess salt damage, don't know hw to translate.

Secrets Excellence gets my vote.
