It's a great looking restaurant, and def different... the only thing I was disappointed about was that you have to cook the food yourself. Maybe I'm the idiot for not realizing that ahead of time, but they bring you the cooking oils and the raw meat to cook. Personally I would've enjoyed it much more if they served the meat cooked and then provided a bunch of different dips/sauces to try. I will say though... the chocolate dessert fondue is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!!

yes any fondue place you go to, you cook the food yourself. They have a burner on the table or something like that i forgot exactly hahaha...i had the seafood for dinner so it cooked very quickly...they give you forks specially for fondue and you just put a piece of meat or seafood or vegegatble on the fork and just drop it in the pot and let it cook on its own, thats all really...But that is how its done with fondue at any place
for the appetizer cheese fondue, they mix the stuff in the pot in front of you and let it cook so thats mostly done for you...Same with the chocolate one, they mix all the stuff in the pot for you

Re: Anyone been to the Melting Pot?
I've been there a bunch of times. its great to go with a group of at least 4 -6 people. that way you can have a minimum of 2 'pots' & cooking styles on the table.
its a fondue restaurant, so you are doing the 'cooking' yourself---but they prepare everything table side. like the cheese fondue , is prepared in front of you and they put all the fresh ingredients together and then you dip various breads, chips, apples, carrots, & cauliflower.
then you get a salad course
after that they bring out the main courses. again, the pots are prepped in front of you and they bring you all kinds of sauces and plates. your food is brought out raw, and depending on the pieces, it takes anywhere from 2-4 min. you can get various plates containing chicken, shrimp, steak, lobster. one of my favorites is their spinach and gorgonzola ravioli. mmm
after that comes the chocolate fondue, and O M G -- its DELICIOUS!
just be prepared for a dinner that takes awhile--if you have 4-6 people its a good 2 hrs if not more! the price can be a little steep as everything is made for 'two'.
