Anyone belong to Lucille Roberts?
I am thinking of joining the Stony Brook one. Anyone go to one? Any reviews?

i used to go to one in forest hills. i liked it very much - they had a good variety of classes, even evening classes, good instructors and pretty good equipment. my only gripe was that there were never enough treadmills - that's usually what happens, though. plus, you had to get there about an hour early to sign up for a treadmill. as i said, for the most part i did like it. and the membership fee by far was the CHEAPEST i have ever paid. i paid like $250 for TWO YEARS. i now pay $70 A MONTH at NYSC, a place i don't really like; unfortunately, they have a monopoly where i live in crooklyn.
I belong to the one in Rockville Centre. I wouldnt give them rave reviews but if all our machines are new, the classes are very large and hard to get into because there are so many people who take them. They could add a few more though. The hours in my oppinion stink but for the price it's not that bad. Just watch because I had them taking double out of my checking account and after my payments were done they kept taking payments out. When I got pregnant with my son they were supposed to suspend my membership until I could go back and they didnt, when I tried to cancel my membership they didnt so there head office ***** too.
I don't belong to Lucille anymore, but I used to belong to the one in Westbury . . . It's OK. The only thing I liked was that it was all women and I didn't have to deal with any meatheads.. Other than that, it wasn't the greatest. Equipment was not so state of the art, and classes always packed. I actually loved when I was a member of NYSC. That was my fave. Now I just go to my apartment complex gym, and that's the best of all - and most convenient!
I think each one is different (I mean in terms of the people, not the equipment). I belonged to the one in Bayside like3 years ago and I really liked it. It was mostly fit younger women so the classes were really energetic and everyone concentrated on working out. I belong to the Plainview one now and I hate it!!! They're mostly older ladies who do nothing but take up the 5 treadmills chatting and no one walk more than like 3.3mph. The classes are lower impact for the older people and the machines in the basement are old. There is one ffan down there that everyone fights for. When we finally get a house, I'm switching. Price is good, I pay $20 a month, but you get what you pay for.
