We booked them through out band (Long Island Paramount)--so I don't know the name offhand. The price was $600 for the hospitality(as the guests arrive before the ceremony) and the ceremony.

I have requested a ton of demo tapes/CDs from ceremony musicians. I am looking for a string trio. So far, I liked Peter Howard Classical Ensembles the best and I will probably book with him. I think he was $650 for my ceremony. I found all of the places to be about the same (with $100 of eachother). Some have deals if you want them for 2hrs (ceremony + cocktail hour) but my reception is starting about 45min after my ceremony. Good luck!

I have a string trio for 2 hours (hospitality, ceremony and cocktail) $750...I booked last year...don't know if it went up...
We booked the Royal Brass. 2 Trumpets and a string quartet (3 strings and a flute) for 2 hours for our full mass. We are not using organ at all.
I was thinking about having a string quartet or something similar for my church. Anyone have an idea how much something like this would cost? The mass should be about an hour long.

Usually a string quartet will run you about $200 per person for two hours. I think that's right along Musician Union standards so those prices should be about the same anywhere you call.
We went through The Royal Brass and found their quality of musicians to be better than any other we had seen.
All the quartets I priced were between $800-$850 for one hour (just for the ceremony).
